Hey Mate Announces Appointment of Narayan Wallace-Prabhu as Programs & Grants Coordinator
Hey Mate, Australia’s leading creative industries wellbeing provider, is pleased to announce the appointment of Narayan Wallace-Prabhu as Programs & Grants Coordinator.
Based in Melbourne, Narayan brings over 15 years of experience working across the global creative industries, with a career spanning artist development, business leadership, and program delivery.
As founding partner of LUSTRE, a record label and artist management company, Narayan has supported artists to achieve international success, including US Billboard #1 releases and GRAMMY-nominated work, and has contributed to performances at major festivals including Glastonbury Festival and Splendour in the Grass.
He has also led and coordinated industry development initiatives supported by Creative Australia and Music NSW, delivering programs that strengthen capacity and sustainability across the sector.
Narayan’s appointment reflects Hey Mate’s continued investment in expanding its national program delivery and grant-funded initiatives, supporting creative workers, organisations, and communities.
In addition to his industry experience, Narayan brings a strong commitment to mental health and wellbeing. After witnessing the pressures faced by artists and creative professionals, he trained as a Lifeline Crisis Support volunteer and Accredited Mental Health First Aid Practitioner. He is currently undertaking further study in Organisational Psychology at Deakin University.
In his new role, Narayan will support the coordination and delivery of Hey Mate’s programs and partnerships, as well as contribute to the organisation’s growing grants pipeline and strategic initiatives.
Aimee Davies, Founder and Managing Director of Hey Mate, said:
“Narayan brings a rare combination of deep industry experience and a genuine commitment to mental health in the creative sector. He understands the realities of creative work, and the importance of building systems that support people to sustain their careers. We’re thrilled to have him join the team as we continue to grow nationally.”
Narayan’s appointment comes at a time of significant expansion for Hey Mate, as the organisation continues to deliver mental health training, employee assistance programs, and sector-wide wellbeing initiatives across Australia.
