We’re excited to officially share Safer Creative Workplaces Victoria a new free two-part program supporting Victoria’s creative industries to better understand and strengthen psychosocial safety at work.Delivered by Hey Mate in partnership with WorkSafe Victoria, the program brings together creative workers, leaders, employers and industry voices to explore what psychosocial safety looks like in the realities of creative work from freelance and project-based environments through to organisations and larger workplaces.
We’re kicking off with two free events:
Online Webina rFriday 11 September, 11am–12pm
In-Person WorkshopFriday 13 November, 9am–1pm Collingwood Yards, Naarm/Melbourne
And we’re thrilled to be joined by an incredible group of panelists and contributors:
Amelia Vercoe — Senior Manager, Psychological Health Strategy, WorkSafe Victoria
Amy Salmon Principal Psychological Health & Safety Specialist Kirsty Rivers — General Manager, Victorian Music Development Office (VMDO)
Raag Bhatia — Programming & Community Manager, Miscellania
Woody W — Producer, Beethoven & Dinosaur Dr Kim Goodwin — Senior Lecturer, University of Melbourne
Together, we’ll unpack Victoria’s psychosocial health and safety requirements, the risks that show up specifically in creative workplaces, and — importantly — what practical, meaningful change can look like across our sector.
A big thank you to our partners at WorkSafe Victoria and hosts Collingwood Yards for helping bring it to life.
Both events are free to attend and open to people working across Victoria’s creative industries.
