Mental Health First Aid is the nationally recognised accredited training for individuals and teams to be able to effectively respond to mental health issues.
Hey Mate is delivering a nationally accredited Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training program for young adults in Hobart, with a focus on empowering individuals from marginalised and underserved communities. This initiative is designed to boost mental health literacy, reduce stigma, and strengthen peer support capacity across local networks.
What you'll learn:
✔️ How to recognise the signs of common mental health challenges
✔️ Practical, evidence-based strategies to provide initial support
✔️ How to respond safely in a mental health crisis
✔️ Where and how to connect people with the right professional help
Who's it for?
This course is ideal for young adults aged 18–30 who are passionate about mental wellbeing and supporting their communities—whether you're a peer, creative, carer, student, or community worker.
Program Details:
In-person Training: 2-day accredited MHFA course
Location: WOTSO, Hobart
Delivered by: A certified MHFA instructor in a culturally safe, trauma-informed space
Includes: Official MHFA manual + Certificate of Accreditation on completion of all componenets (valid for 3 years)
Extras: Wellbeing resource pack to support ongoing learning and self-care
